Early animation loops
The first home cinema projectors that where brought on the market were small hand crancked 35 mm projectors, often lighted by a kerosine lamp. They were manufactured througout the first half of the 20th century, mostly by a couple of German toy manufacturers that were all located in Nuremberg. More.

The Comix Reader is a 24 page tabloid-sized (approximately A3) anthology of mainly full colour comic strips that strives to recapture some of the fun and free spirit of the 60's underground press. Printed on newsprint with a cover price of just £1, it's the opposite of the expensive limited edition; accessible to all who are interested. It's also an experiment in distribution and publishing : 9,000 copies paid for and distributed by the artists - a first, small attempt in taking "alternative" comics to a wider audience. People love comics!

Louis Wain: The Man Who Drew Cats
From comicafestival.com : The life and work of the Edwardian cat artist Louis Wain, whose obsession drove him into the madhouse, is being explored by writer and broadcaster David Quantick and artist Savage Pencil in their serialised biography for Alan Moore’s Dodgem Logic magazine. Quantick and Pencil discuss their fascination with Wain and their approach to comics in an illustrated presentation. The evening also marks the publication from The London Print Studio of a set of four signed, limited-edition silkscreen cards by Savage Pencil inspired by Wain’s cats.
